Africa Climate Resilience

Africa Climate Resilience is a climate finance bridge, a project developer and a collaboration firm that focuses on channeling climate finance to multiply mass reforestation projects in arid rural regions across Africa and the rest of the world. Our team of engineers and practitioners work on the ground to increase reforestation projects, climate finance investments, and improve the management and longevity of greenhouse gas emissions reduction projects. Outreach programs to isolated rural communities around the globe (Grassroots Community-based Organizations, Indigenous Community Cooperatives) are the starting point of the effort, in order to fully grasp their most pressing and urgent needs.

We also outreach to Individuals, ESG focused corporations, institutions pursuing CSR efforts or Net-Zero goals, development agencies and various donors to diversify, accelerate and increase funding for climate adaptation, mitigation and resilience efforts. Our thesis lies on the belief that reforestation combines all three climate interventions: Adaptation, Mitigation and Resilience. These concepts are traditionally split but we believe planting fruit-bearing trees converge these three actions.

The Africa Carbon Markets Initiative (ACMI) estimates that Africa has the potential to generate 2,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalents (MtCO2e) just from the nature-based solutions projects.

Our financial mechanism helps bridge the financing gap by simplifying and accelerating financial flows.

Afforestation and Reforestation projects can become a development lever through climate finance funding mechanisms.

We place a special focus on areas threatened by desertification since planting trees there would have the most impact.

Bridging the Gap: facilitate access to Climate Finance in Developing Nations

There is a massive disconnect between two critical market segment in climate action: 1) Global South Climate projects Taskforce and 2) the Global North Climate Finance infrastructure consisting of Corporate Finance, Climate Institutions, Philanthropies and Carbon Markets at-large.

The two groups lack in awareness of each other.

This is why we support the linking of these disconnected but complementary parts. Most frontline development workers, community-based projects, practitioners, smallholders farmers, and other project developers in developing countries cannot access global climate finance due to numerous barriers. We support them in accessing climate finance.

We help partners reach their Net-Zero Goals

If your firm plans on naturally mitigating its carbon emissions with an impact, then we are your ideal partner.

Our team brings proven nature-based carbon capture solutions fit to mitigate your specific GHG Scope 1,2 and even 3 emissions by creating comprehensive design, engineering, management plans and Project Execution/Monitoring.

We provide our partners with all the required metrics ensuring natural carbon capture and associated benefits are measured, met and certified.

By ensuring the trees we plant have the best chance of survival and long-term success, we reduce project risk by thoroughly analyzing all key parameters. We work with local communities to ensure that the plans are sustainable and tailored to the specific needs of the area. We also ensure the soil is suited and well prepared for the native species to be planted.

Access to Clean Water

As part of our commitment to community well-being, we focus on responding the primary needs of African and other emerging rural communities: access to clean drinking water is the first (and most) crucial fundamental step for tree planting initiatives.

Often a neglected aspect of climate change negative impact, access to clean water is one of the most urgent issues requiring immediate attention in the mitigation and adaptation to the climate crisis.

People have to resolve their water drinking needs first before they can engage in any other activity such as planting trees or growing crops.

Metrics for Transparency Monitoring & Verification of Projects

Trust, confidence and transparency are the keystone of our operations. We monitor, report and provide project metrics including social, economic, human, gender and environmental impacts.

Our team fully collaborate and partner with monitoring, reporting and verification bodies, using the latest technology to ensure accuracy and efficiency  of projects.

We execute part of the level of effort but also partner with the most accomplished teams on the local and international market to implement satellite images, GIS, remote sensing, in-person site visits and other relevant methodologies for integrity and transparency.

Fruit Bearing Tree Planting

Tree planting is at the heart of our reforestation and afforestation efforts. We focus on fruit bearing trees or vegetable bearing trees to generate food and income for local populations. Such approach ensures rural communities acceptance and adoption of reforestation projects. Villagers are already incentivized to join tree planting projects because they can clearly see the multiple co-benefits of projects (water, food, income).

Our team works with rural Indigenous communities and local soil experts to identify the best tree species to plant in each area, taking into account factors such as soil type, climate, and local wildlife. We also work to ensure that the trees we plant have the best chance of survival and long-term success.

Youth Engagement

Engaging the youth from elementary, middle and high schools is a key component of massive adoption from the entire community. Most schools in rural Africa need improvements such roof repairs or cover/shelter from the elements so our program will incorporate a school renovation effort to gain youth engagement.

Children can be educated on how to plant trees on the weekend or after classes, then engage in planting trees around their schools and also near their homes.
